The Truth About Horoscopes

Horoscopes chartYou’re standing in line at the grocery store, you’re bored to your core, and the women before you her cart filled to it’s very capacity; so you reach over to a the magazine rack to check out your Horoscope. Don’t try to lie to yourself, you’d be considered weird if you haven’t done this before. But, do you really know what a horoscope means? And how can we decipher our own horoscopes?

A horoscope is used to forecast one’s day, week, or month, usually in relationship with their assigned sign according to their birth date and the planets/stars placement. The science of designing these layouts is called Astrology.

Here is a twist though: Horoscopes in Magazines/Online are way beyond vague and too impersonal to actually work. Oh wait, that isn’t a complete and utter shocker? So here is a real quick run down on exactly why online and magazine horoscopes don’t work.

The horoscopes in publications stated above are strictly based on your Sun Sign. These are strictly based on the corresponding placements of the Sun and your birthdate. To get an accurate reading you must also imply your planetary sign and your rising sun sign.

The thing about Astrology is that even though it’s based on constellations, you must also remember that is also geo-centric (basically, it’s centered around Earth).  The time of the sun rise also lends to create a more accurate reading because it can pin point exactly how the constellations effect you. The reason why planets are important in an accurate horoscope is that planets rule  signs. An example is how Mars strongly influences and rules Aries.

So, remember, next time you’re in that check-out line, don’t take that horoscope too seriously.
