Man Jumps from Plane Claiming to See Ghosts

I love when we come across crazy stories like this. It;s always even better when said stories, promoting a video, don’t include or link to said video. I’ve had a devil of a time trying to find it online.

No, not that Chong. Surprisingly, as I hear he’s dabbled in some drugs in his time…

MIRI: VIDEOS of a man who jumped from a taxiing airplane, after claiming to have seen ghosts, have gone viral on social website Facebook.

A local daily even quoted a passenger who said the man was heard shouting about seeing ghosts before jumping out of the plane.

The 24-year-old, identified only as Chong, is warded at Miri Hospital after having sustained several broken bones from the fall. His ghostly claims aside, investigations revealed Chong looked delirious when he boarded the plane with his girlfriend.

“He looked as if he was under the influence (of drugs or alcohol),” said a police source.

Chong is believed to be an off-duty air steward on vacation, bound for Kuala Lumpur with his girlfriend on that Friday evening.

Miri police chief Assistant Commissioner Mun Kock Keong said the case was under airport authorities as it falls under the Aviation Act.

Efforts to speak to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd and AirAsia officials proved unsuccessful as no one was willing to comment on the incident.

On Friday, an AirAsia Airbus A320 aircraft bound for Kuala Lumpur was delayed for five hours after Chong jumped off the taxiing aircraft at 7.30pm.

Chong was said to have caused a commotion with the flight crew, when he refused to take his seat while the aircraft was taxiing. It was then he managed to open one of the doors and jump out.

When contacted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd operations senior general manager Datuk Azmi Murad said the case was referred to the police for investigation.

If this were a JetBlue flight, the plane would still be taxiing.
